Staff and students proudly celebrated outstanding GCSE achievements across Thomas Deacon Education Trust (TDET) on Thursday 21 August, which highlighted the hard work and determination of young people across our academies.
Scott Hudson, Chief Executive of TDET said:
“I couldn’t be prouder of the incredible success achieved this year by students at Queen Katharine Academy, Thomas Deacon Academy, and Richard Barnes Academy. These results reflect the hard work, resilience, and dedication of every young person and the staff who support them. As a Trust, we are passionate about nurturing talent and ambition, not just within our academies but across the wider community.”
At Queen Katharine Academy, Year 11 students marked a significant milestone with many securing top grades and making excellent progress. Highlights include multiple students achieving Grade 9s and strong results across a wide range of subjects, demonstrating the academy’s ongoing positive transformation under new leadership. Executive Principal, Rick Carroll and new Principal, Mark Taylor applauded the students’ hard work and look forward to continuing the academy’s momentum.
Thomas Deacon Academy saw a wave of impressive results with students exceeding expectations in a variety of subjects. Notable performances included a number of students achieving multiple Grade 9s and Grade 8s. Principal Emily Gaunt praised the courage, commitment, and confidence shown by the students, and wished success to all in their next chapter of education.
Richard Barnes Academy, an Alternative Provision setting focusing on personalised learning pathways, celebrated successes including strong GCSE and BTEC qualifications. Principal, Claire Everton highlighted the dedication of both students and staff and the importance of partnerships with families in creating a supportive environment. The academy’s holistic approach ensures learners not only gain qualifications but also the confidence and skills to succeed beyond school.
Across the Trust, staff have been on hand to support students as they look forward to their next steps, whether that be further education, apprenticeships, or new opportunities.
Congratulations to all our students - we are incredibly proud of your achievements and excited to see what you accomplish next.
