Thomas Deacon Education Trust commemorates Holocaust Memorial Day

Senior students and the Combined Cadet Force supported the annual Peterborough Holocaust Memorial Service, which took place on Thursday 24th January in Peterborough City Centre.

Cadets from the Army, RAF and Police sections joined dignitaries outside the Town Hall for The Mayors procession to St Johns Church, which saw them meet with special guests and members of the public to commemorate those that died in the holocaust and subsequent acts of genocide.

TDA Principal Student, Joe Welch and Senior Prefect, Lara Wade delivered a reading as part of the service, which also included further readings, prayers and personal accounts from schools and individuals representing religious groups affected by war and hate crimes.

Following the service, the congregation gathered around St Johns Square to witness the Mayor lay a wreath at the holocaust memorial site, in remembrance of those affected by atrocities of war.
