Today, we are thrilled to celebrate the incredible achievements of our Post-16 students across Thomas Deacon Education Trust (TDET).
A-Level and vocational results day is always a very special moment – the culmination of two years of hard work, determination, and resilience. Our students have shown extraordinary commitment to their studies, supported every step of the way by our dedicated staff, caring families, and vibrant school communities.

Queen Katharine Academy
At Queen Katharine Academy, the celebration was made even more special as it comes during a time of exciting transformation for the school, with recent leadership changes and a renewed commitment to excellence under Principal Mark Taylor.
Among many individual triumphs were:
- Michael Butler: A in A-Level Maths, A in Core Maths, A in Extended Project, A in Physics (self-taught), Distinction in Business Studies, B in Further Maths, B in Economics, B in German – now heading to the University of Nottingham to study Physics with Astrophysics.
- Haidar Ali: A in Maths, Distinction in Engineering, B in Physics – set to study Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manchester.
- Milana Slajute: A in Economics, Distinction in Applied Psychology, Distinction in Travel and Tourism – taking a gap year before studying Economics at the University of Leeds.
- Elian Aziz: A* in Health and Social Care, A* in Early Years – joining the University of Greenwich for Public Health.
- Sabiha Damani: Triple A in Health and Social Care – progressing to Anglia Ruskin University.
Principal Mark Taylor praised the students’ “fantastic set of results” and the collective efforts of staff, students, and families, emphasising the academy’s positive direction for the future.
Thomas Deacon Academy
Across the city, Thomas Deacon Academy students also shared in the joy of outstanding results, reflecting two years of hard work and personal growth for its Post-16 students.
Exceptional individual results included:
- Mohammed Abdur-Reheem: A* in Business, A in Economics, Distinction* in IT – moving on to University of Birmingham to study Accounting and Finance.
- Junaid Ahmed: A* in Business, A in Economics, A in Sociology – also heading to the University of Birmingham for Accounting and Finance.
- Zainab Khan: A in Biology, A in Chemistry, Distinction in Health and Social Care – now bound for the University of Manchester to study Optometry.
- Perla Poskaite: A* in Sociology, A in History, A in Politics.
Principal Emily Gaunt and Head of Sixth Form Michala Jackson commended the students for their curiosity, dedication, and exceptional progress during their time at TDA.
Both academies are continuing to offer one-to-one guidance and support to help students make the most of their next steps in education, apprenticeships, or employment.
This year’s results are more than just grades – they represent determination, hard work, and the belief in limitless possibilities. We look forward to seeing where the next chapter takes each and every one of our learners.
