The TDET Organisation structure is shown below.

How Our Governance Works:

Trust Members: Trust Members are akin to the shareholders of a company. They have ultimate control over the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT), with the ability to appoint some of the Trustees and the right to amend the Trust’s Articles of Association. Members play a crucial role in safeguarding the governance of the Trust, ensuring its charitable objectives are met and holding the Trust Board to account for the effective governance of the Trust. There is a clear separation between Members and Trustees to maintain objectivity and integrity in governance.

Trust Board: The Trust Board holds overall responsibility for the strategic direction and performance of all academies within the Trust. Trustees are appointed as the accountable body in law and must act collectively in the best interests of children, ensuring the good conduct of academies and promoting high standards of educational achievement. The Board provides:

    • Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
    • Hold executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff.
    • Oversee the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.

Local Advisory Committee (LAC): The LAC acts as a ‘critical friend’ to the academy, providing insight, support, and stakeholder representation. It gathers feedback from parents, staff, pupils, and the wider community, ensuring that diverse perspectives inform our strategic priorities and improvement plans. While advisory in nature, the LAC contributes to trust-wide assurance by reporting annually to the Education Committee and fostering engagement across all trust schools.

This structure ensures that all stakeholders have a voice in the academy’s development and that governance is both robust and responsive to the needs of our community.
